Update: people who pretend to be nuns

We have received many letters from you like the one that follows:

"Today 22 June on Marathonos Avenue in Geraka, Attica, 2 nuns approached me and told me that they are from the monastery of Saint Raphael in Mytilene, where they host 28 children with special needs, in order to sell a rosary and a cross that they give to those they meet. I said that I can not spend so much money because I am unemployed, then she took the icon and the money I had given her and left.

We are aware of similar incidents with some ladies who dress as nuns and use the name of the Monastery to sell various things. We can not do anything because we do not know who they are. What you can do is to inform the police and spread the word so that they do not deceive the people but also do not tarnish the image of the Monastery of our great Saints.

The nuns of Saint Raphael follow the rules set by the founder and first Abbess of the Holy Monastery, Abbess Eugenia Kleidara, which means that the nuns are institutionalized and do not leave the Holy monastery except for serious health issues.

May the Saints be with you.
